It’s safe to say that water is on the minds of most Californians. With our state facing a historic four-year drought, the effects ripple far beyond our own cities, dinner plates and favorite swimming holes. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the consequences.
We at Fair Oaks EcoHousing are a family-friendly, intergenerational group of households intending to build 30 homes on 3.5 acres. Our community’s start of construction is planned for summer of 2015. We’re actively looking for others who share our vision to join us.
We’re excited about our prime site location, minutes from the American River Parkway, Fair Oaks Village, Bannister Park, Sacramento Waldorf School and Rudolf Steiner College. Fair Oaks is 18 miles east of Sacramento.
We've all come across the kinds of stories that are meant to be shared. An article a friend recommends or a radio program we hear on the way to work and can't stop thinking about all day. Well, cohousing has been in the story spotlight lately - and with Conference registration having recently opened, the timing couldn't be more perfect.
What an enormous gift cohousing gives to those living in community ☺
Many of you currently live in cohousing, have collaborated on construction or development of communities, or are in the process of finding your new cohousing home. So, have you ever thought…
I’d love to help make more of these communities a reality!
What if my work helped cohousing community formation from the ground up?
What if I could learn how, and bring those skills to meaningful fruition in my area?
I’m excited to introduce a new project recently launched at CoHousing Partners: http://www.cohousingpartners.com in Nevada City, CA. I’ve started a Q&A style video series to offer a first-hand glimpse of life in cohousing. These candid interviews with the experts on the topics of living, growing and aging in cohousing could provide an excellent educational feature to those first stepping foot into the cohousing world, or perhaps as a way to explain cohousing to your friends, family or those interested in joining your community.
