Help us make a difference.

The Cohousing Association of the United States (Coho/US) is a national, donor-based organization that depends on the enthusiastic support of our volunteers. We rely on cohousing champions across the United States who donate their time, energy and creativity to help us promote the cohousing movement, support individuals and groups in creating communities, provide assistance to completed groups, and create networking opportunities for those involved or interested in cohousing.

Here are some ongoing positions and projects that need volunteer support:

  • Board of directors (leadership, strategy, fundraising)
  • Conference team for 2008 and 2009 national conferences (planning, onsite support)
  • Community partner liaisons (keep us informed of what’s happening in your community and convey information from the Association to your group or community)
  • Cohousing magazine (submit articles, photos or story ideas, edit articles for our online magazine)
  • Cohousing Advertising Council join this advisory group to help grow the Cohousing movement and industry
  • Communication projects (publicity, outreach, database, website)
  • Workshops and seminars (planning and onsite support)
  • Tours (planning and onsite support)
  • Fundraising (planning, phone banks, grant proposals)
  • Marketing and outreach (spread the word about cohousing)
  • Regional groups (plan, promote and actualize regional multi-community activities)
  • Effective Practices in Cohousing (submit and/or review documents)
  • Research projects (submit, coordinate)
  • Volunteer recruitment and coordination (match volunteers with tasks that suit them)
  • A volunteer task not mentioned here (Do you have a skill or talent that you could apply to further the growth of cohousing in the United States?)

Even if you have just a few hours to donate, we are eager to hear from you. What are your special talents or interests? What time commitments can you make? Let's have a conversation. Contact us!
