Our property (under option) is in beautiful Anacortes, a small town of 12,000 with abundant parks and forest lands, ferry access to the San Juan Islands. The property is one block from 2800 acres of community forest lands with 50 miles of hiking and biking trails. The broader area includes farm land, marina activities, active arts community including music and theater, and stunning views of Puget Sound and Mount Baker. Anacortes has a thriving community of people working to be environmentally responsible in a changing world. Located in a rain shadow, limited rain fall makes for a particularly enjoyable mild climate.
As a multigenerational community we look forward to watching children play and explore, sharing dreams, work, and meals, and supporting each other as we grow and age. Like most cohousing communities, we make decisions by consensus, welcome a diverse range of people, and care for our environment.
