Buck Creek Village, a unique rural senior cohousing community, is located in the Piedmont of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Nelson County, Virginia. The village lies on a hilltop overlooking a valley, with the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance. Nelson County is very rural and our village is likewise. Because there are young families in most of the neighboring homes on our road, the neighborhood of our senior cohousing community is intergenerational! The ten homes are on two-acre lots, mostly wooded, with a thirty-acre commonly owned parcel of both woods and open hillside. All lots and homes are privately owned. An internal path connects all the lots with the Common House, which has magnificent views of the mountains and the surrounding hills.
Our village is peaceful and quiet, surrounded by mountains and hills and the strong creek that gives us our name. There are miles of walking trails, and the community members have access to hundreds of acres of forest and fields. The flora and fauna are amazingly diverse, and it is a most beautiful place at all times of the year, with four distinct seasons. Buck Creek Village residents have access to the numerous recreational, cultural and artistic opportunities both in Nelson County and in the surrounding areas. We are 20 miles from Charlottesville, VA, with all a university town has to offer, including two major health care hospitals with their clinics.
We still have community membership offerings open, and would be happy to have you come for a visit.
